Hi, I am currently self developing a Top down racing game. This is a pretty basic game with some pretty basic game mechanics. My main motive of this project is to develop a game from ground up and make myself one step closer for being the Game Director.
So coming back to the development of my game. I have currently developed some basic Game Mechanics for the car to be controlled by our player. So First of all I needed a Car that I Accomplished by adding a plane to the Car Blueprint. Oh I totally forgot to mention that I am working on Unreal Engine 4 and because I don't have a programmer background I am working with Blueprint Visual Scripting. So back to our car, I made plane to represent our car as I wanted our car to have simple collision on XY Axes and then I added a Cube mesh to represent the car visually that can be changed in later development with a more appealing mesh. Now I wanted my car to move. I tried using basic translation method and somewhat achieved what I wanted. But had to scrap it as I decided that the car movement should have some physics Translation. This is where I faced some difficulties.
This is what I have worked so far. I will be posting some videos as soon as I get my new internet connection. Also I would like to hear any feedback on my first blog post ever. Sumit Das
